Dear Oprah,
As the ONLINE DATING COACHES, we’d like to be the mini-me versions of you and Gayle! We’re already best friends, now one of us just needs to become the richest and most powerful woman in the world!
We LOVED your Oprahly advice in the June issue of “O” where you brilliantly stated:
”You’re not your body image…”
But, honestly, it left us wanting more!
We tried thinking like you, Oprahy, we really did. But then we’d pass by a mirror or something shiny and start obsessing about wrinkles and saggy arms.
So how can we be the image we desire???
As the Online Dating Coaches, we wanted to provide an answer to this important question for our clients, and, after several bottles of wine tirelessly researching the matter with scientific methods, we came up with the answer:
FIX AND SWITCH!
First, take a SIMPLE STEP towards fixing your problem instead of obsessing about it.
For example, if you hate that you’re going bald, then get a handsome, close-cropped haircut.
If you hate your weight, join a program like Weight Watchers.
Then SWITCH to obsessing about your passions like…
… golf / cooking / motorcycle riding / traveling / tennis / fishing / wine / football / knitting / sailing, etc.!

The Wall Street Journal on LOVE?!

What’s love got to do with the Wall Street Journal?
Everything… if you want to be successful in love!
And, naturally, the ONLINE DATING COACHES want you to be successful!

1. Cut out a picture of someone famous you admire, anyone from Brett Favre to Oprah. Whoever inspires YOU!
2. Cut out a picture from a magazine, newspaper, etc. similar to the person you imagine your future mate looks like. Post those pictures by your computer for whenever you get discouraged — another trait ALL successful people share — and those pictures will inspire you to keep going until you meet your future mate.

Seems like a simple question, doesn’t it?
Do you want to be right? Or do you want to be happy?
Any sane person would say:
So how come you keep talking about your bad dates and your lousy exes and all the liars on the internet, yada… yada… yada?
Sure, you’re right, but you’re attracting a lot of bad mojo!
And it’s a circle that never ends.
Talk about bad stuff… bad stuff happens…
Talk about this new bad stuff… more bad stuff happens… and on… and on… and on!
Ready to try being happy?
I’ve got TWO incredibly simple tips for you!
1. Watch your language. Use only positive language, especially when negative things happen!
2. Create your WISH LISTS. Write down exactly what you want in a mate and what you have to offer.

TIP #1
Don’t like a holiday — just don’t celebrate it!
Sounds too easy, but it really is that simple.
For example, when I was single, I scheduled a trip every New Year’s Eve because I don’t like to stay up late and drink, and I especially don’t like to be reminded at midnight that I’m starting the new year alone!
Some of my favorites were going to Cuba with friends and driving to Joshua Tree alone and indulging myself!

TIP #2
Love the holiday, just hate how it’s celebrated?
Remember what you loved about the holiday as a child –
– then make the day about your passion AND doing something to feel good about yourself.
(Coaching note — volunteering is the simplest and cheapest self-esteem booster!)
For example, LOVE Valentine’s Day AND sports?
Host a Valentine’s Day poker party to raise money for your sports team’s favorite charity!

EASY BUTTON TIP #1
Well, you’re going to use the EASY BUTTON in ONLINE DATING by figuring out some times that work for you – based upon your lifestyle and your schedule – to devote to your online dating.
That might be using our book – “Finding Your Mate Online,” to work on your WISH LISTS or your
SECRET SCREENER
or just corresponding with potential dates.
For our COACHING CLIENTS who are listening, this will be a time you devote to your goals we’ve developed together this week.
And a big part of the EASY BUTTON is making it FUN. Here’s one example – you can figure out how to apply this example to your life. Let’s say the two least busy times in your life are:
- Wednesday at lunch and
- Saturday afternoons when you run errands, straighten the house, that type of thing.
So, all you have to do block out that time in your calendar as busy –
doesn’t matter if it’s your paper calendar 
or BlackBerry 
just block out that time and make it special!
Remember, I just said a big part of the EASY BUTTON is making it fun, so, for example, every Wednesday at lunch you’re going to go to a nearby Internet Café – one that’s comfortable, has great food, and you
either rent a computer or bring your laptop…
… that’s your “me-time” to devote to online dating. Just make it a regular part of your lifestyle. If someone asks you to do Wednesday lunches, just schedule for another day – you don’t need to say why. Same thing, if, for example, on a Saturday afternoon. Make it a fun habit to go to an Internet Café or coffee shop or even the library.
It’s simply a matter of creating an enjoyable and effortless routine – then suddenly you find yourself having invested at least 8 hours a month in online dating – and it’s all fun and stress-free.
That’s TIP # 1 for using the

in ONLINE DATING!

What Christmas and Online Dating have in common

Notice this year how many great looking photo Christmas cards you received from friends who ordered them from online from places like Shutterfly, Kodak, Snapfish, etc?
How many gifts you ordered and received through online shopping?
Our children will never believe that in the “old days” people had to drive around town to find a specific gift, then search for a suitable shipping box, saving the most maddening task for last — standing in line at the crowded Post Office to send it!
Thankfully, those time-wasting and frustrating “old days” of shopping are over because of the internet!
Of course, we still love the aesthetic pleasure of shopping, but when you need to find those navy stiletto heels with silver trim in size 8 1/2 narrow to match your cocktail dress or a titanium drill bit size 3.5 to fit your Robi drill, you shop online.
And when, in my 30’s, I decided I wasn’t going to spend another decade of bringing different boyfriends home to meet the family at holidays, I turned to the internet to meet my mate!
Thank goodness the “old days” of hoping to meet someone special randomly at work/party/bar/wedding/vacation are over… all because of online dating!
